Today's song is one of my favorites.  I had a really hard time finding a good version so I threw a video together myself.  Ben Harper, if you don't know much about him, is a lyrical genius.  This song in particular, speaks heavily to the feeling of seeing someone after, say, 100 years.
I also love the religious aspect to its name.
Enjoy!

There will be no Novella about William.
However, since I posted a song that I felt represented Rebecca and Thomas, I thought I would give him a day too.
If you've read the book, do you think this portrays his character evolution well?

TV on the Radio- DLZ

I think this song is pretty telling of Liliana's life before the story even begins.

Enjoy and have a fun filled Saturday!

Fallen-Sarah McLachlan

So as part of the exciting upcoming Summer Novella, I posted a song yesterday for Thomas.  Today it is  Rebecca's turn.

Rebecca is described in The Sin Collector as being solitary and quiet.  At one point we are told she believes being a Collector is a burden she must carry.  Where does she believe the burden comes from?  We do not yet know.  She refuses the assistance of the Collector tattoo.  She has a  long and winding history, spanning over a thousand years.  And somehow a thousand years is just the tip of the iceburg...

Azure Ray-The Devil's Feet

So as part of the exciting upcoming Summer Novella, I thought I'd post a song today for Thomas, and one tomorrow for Rebecca.  These songs represent the characters as you know them now, not as you may know them in the future.

Thomas is described in The Sin Collector as being very laid back and comfortable.  The type of person who contemplates life and its tragedies, but doesn't let that knowledge sap their positive energy.

Do you think this song does him justice?

What About Everything-Carbon Leaf

For those who have read The Sin Collector, under the humor and the mistrust, is comradery. Liliana joins a group of her kind, her brothers and sisters, in a battle to save their heritage.  To save one another.
I love this song, to me it captures that sort of selflessness.
The moment we stop living for one another, we just stop.

As those who have read The Sin Collector know, eyes are truly the gateway to all that lies beneath. Collectors try to hide their eyes, but with some they lower their walls...

If there was ever one song on this whole Soundtrack that summed up the story of Liliana, and every other Collector. This would be it.
I'll even include lyrics below the video.

Ellie Goulding-Human
(Lyrics)
Human behave yourself,
you have burst at the seams
let it all
fall out open your mouth
often I lie wide awake,
think of things I can
make
but I dont seem to have the parts to build them
Human I wonder why
youre a better make than I could ever build or create,
you know not love or
hate
I am so scared of what will kill me in the end for I am not
prepared,
I hope I will get the chance to be someone,
to be human,
look
what weve done,
look what weve done

I would give my life, to be
human
I would give my life, to be human
I would give my life, to be
human
I would give my life, to be.

Human Im trying to come clean,
I
will be a better me,
I will not drink until Im dead
Ill make the most of
it.
I dont know what its like to be alive,
to say goodbye,
to cry a
thousand tears because my ears wont listen

Human Im trying not to
lose my faith in you,
Ive sussed out all that Ive seen through,
Ive sailed
an ocean

I am so scared of what Ill look like in the end for I am not
prepared,
I hope I will get the chance to be someone
to be human,
look
what weve done,
look what weve done

I used to hear it all so
loud,
the sound of my heart breaking.
The truth is waiting to be
found,
I trust that I will take it

I would give my life,
I would
give my life,
I would give my life,
I would give my life,
I would give
my life, to be
I would give my life, to be
I would give my life, to
be
I would give my life, to be (human)

I love this song personally. I think it is really indicitive of Liliana's loneliness and mistrust of the future.  She is a hopeful cynic.  Yeah, trust me, it's a real thing.

Band of Horses-The Funeral

This song brought to you by Liliana gearing up for battle.  Hope you like!
